Hi and welcome to Lac Claudette. I bought the lake in 2019 as I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I have been a keen carp fisherman since my childhood, and saw this place as both magical and mysterious. Having spent several years helping my mother manage the Retreat Lake in Fromentiere, I now have Lac Claudette also to develop. It had been unused for several years prior to my purchase, which gave the many fish undisturbed time to grow and spawn. It also meant the surround of the lake had overgrown somewhat.

lac Claudette is the perfect lake to have a social on , all anglers are in close proximity but still have a very good amount of water . You can all have a bbq together leaving the rods out and be just a short sprint away when your alarm sounds

Theres a lovely/challenging mixture of fish, commons, mirrors, scalesy and some ghosties.

Huge Catch

To fish a lake with such varying depths up 40 feet is very exciting knowing you mighy catch a yet unkown monster

THE LAKE

Often said of it as “Far from the Madding Crowd” Lac Claudette nestles down a quiet country lane in the heart of the Mayenne countryside surrounded by only fields, woods, and the chatter and noise of birds and nature. Peace, escapism, tranquility are the order of the day.

Lac Claudette is a 7 acre gravel pit with crystal clear waters, located near the village of Ballots. The lake is home to 200 carp up to 68lb and one large catfish in excess of 120 lbs. The lake hosts 6 swims and we allow 4 anglers to fish the lake at anyone time.

THE AREA

The lake is located within a few miles from the nearby town Ballots (in the Mayenne Departement of Northern West France,) where there are a couple of supermarkets, bars, shops and restaurants, making the ideal place to get out and about for a couple of hours during the week.

Close by are the towns of Craon 9kms, Cosse Le Vivien 6 kms, Livre La Touch 6kms. Chateau Gontier (large town on the banks of the river Mayenne) 30kms.

A unique lake with great depths, cracking features and an excellent stock of big and beautiful carp that will only get better and better over the next few years, what more can i say, it’s well worth a visit!
